Dr. Ansari attended Harvard University, where he studied biochemistry and graduated cum laude. He graduated with an MD and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was recognized with numerous graduate student awards for his outstanding research. Dr. Ansari completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at two institutions that have been ranked for decades as the top two eye care centers in the country: the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. During his glaucoma fellowship, Dr. Ansari received the prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Award. He was a full-time faculty member at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Here he was recognized as an outstanding clinician, educator, and administrator. Amongst his proudest accomplishments while at Penn was the development of a surgical training curriculum for ophthalmology residents.
Dr. Ansari has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers, book chapters, and editorials. His past and current research interests include the surgical management of glaucoma, glaucoma laser treatment, uveitic glaucoma, and surgical training in ophthalmology.
Dr. Ansari is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and has vast experience in the medical, laser, and surgical management of all glaucoma-related conditions, including a particular interest in patients who have failed previous glaucoma surgeries and those with concurrent cataract and lens implant issues. He is involved in numerous clinical trials and is able to provide the most sophisticated glaucoma treatments available.
