Bio
Jody Kemp Judge, M.D. grew up in Southeastern Massachusetts, went to Middlebury College in Vermont, and completed the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Bryn Mawr College before going to medical school at Case Western Reserve University. She did her medical internship in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and her ophthalmology residency at Boston University.
Before medical school, she spent a summer teaching chemistry at the Punahou School in Honolulu, and spent a year as a research assistant studying laser instabilities at the National Optics Institute in Florence, Italy. As a medical student, she spent four months working on a clinical trial for the treatment of river blindness in Robertsfield, Liberia for the International Center for Epidemiologic and Preventive Ophthalmology of the Wilmer Institute at Johns Hopkins University. She also went to China for six weeks with a delegation from the University of Michigan studying cardiology, and lectured on American medical education in Beijing and Changchun.
She worked as a general ophthalmologist in Framingham for ten years, then spent two years in London, England with her family, where she did a Clinical Fellowship in General Ophthalmology at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. She has worked at OCB since returning from her Fellowship in London. Dr. Judge is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New England Ophthalmological Society, and the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. She is a staff member at Mt Auburn Hospital.
