Treatment

Uveitis is a serious eye condition that can permanently affect sight or even lead to blindness if not treated. A careful examination by an ophthalmologist is extremely important when symptoms occur.  Your OCB ophthalmologist will carefully examine your eye, ask pertinent questions regarding your medical history and may order further blood tests or imaging studies to help make the diagnosis.

Uveitis must be treated as soon as possible to avoid vision threatening sequelae.

Eye drops such as corticosteroids and/or pupil dilators may be used to reduce inflammation and pain. Periocular or intraocular injections or systemic steroids may be necessary for more severe inflammation. If chronic or long term therapy is required, systemic immunomodulatory therapy may be used.

OCB is proud to participate in clinical trials in the field of uveitis

Currently enrolling trials:

  • Intravitreal YUTIQ injection for macular edema associated with intermediate, posterior, panuveitis
